Postal Semen Analysis Service

The X&Y Fertility postal semen analysis screens provide prompt accurate reports on basic semen parameters. We measure sample volume and colour (macroscopic), and sperm concentration and shape (microscopic). We then report the total number of normal shaped sperm in the ejaculate.  Since samples are posted, we don’t provide reports on sperm movement, for which on-site production is recommended.

To provide a safe and efficient service, it is essential that samples are safely posted in line with legal requirements (known as regulation UN3373). Therefore, samples must be dispatched in leak-proof specimen containers, wrapped in absorbent protective material to absorb any leakage, and then placed in secondary packaging (a sealed plastic bag). Samples must also be accompanied by a request form. All of these are available via the ARR and will be sent to the practitioner once purchase has been made
